The STING 110A stretching machine can be operated with different sizes of blank frame slats and canvases of different thicknesses and qualities.
The pressure values and blank frame frame support frame settings given in the user manual optimize the use of the standard sizes and qualities of supplies that we also use. For example, when using 45 mm wide, 18 mm thick stretching slats and 290g/m2 Polyester Canvas, we can create properly stretched canvas pictures with these parameters. When using materials of other sizes and qualities, these settings must be modified according to individual needs. The height of the frame support frames must be adjusted higher or lower according to the width of the stretching slat used. When using canvas with similar elasticity, the specified upper height of approximately 10 – 12mm may be appropriate, but this may also be modified depending on the individual composition of the raw material and the tension requirements.
For proper tensioning of thicker – higher gram weight – canvases, a higher pressure, e.g. 6 Bar, may be required, etc. Professional experience gained during regular, continuous use of the machine will determine the most advantageous setting values for the given user.
The tensioning machine does not require any special maintenance, however, it is recommended to check from time to time whether the screws and fasteners, which are otherwise mounted with fastening material, have loosened during continuous use. If this occurs, retightening may be necessary, but make sure that this is done with the appropriate tool.
